Getting to uni
Take the Hume Highway, and turn off at the Narellan Road exit. You’ll find plenty of discounted parking when you arrive.
Buses stop on Narellan Road at the William Downes Avenue bus stand. Campus is just a short 600m walk away.
We’re an easy walk from Macarthur Square train station. Or you can catch the free shuttle bus. They come every 15 minutes.
If you prefer to bike it into uni, we have four bicycle stands as well as men’s and women’s showers.
A free shuttle bus takes you to and from Macarthur train station every 15 minutes or so. There’s also a handy, real-time bus-tracker.

Student Support
We want to encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to study at Western. So, our Badanami Centre for Indigenous Education offers you access to a great range of services, like career advice, tutors, medical help, counselling, computers, study spaces, a kitchen and printing facilities – even opportunities to study abroad.
If you feel unsafe or want someone to escort you to your car, call the 24/7 security hotline on 1300 737 003. Keep your eye out for the many emergency contact points as well. Just press the button and a security officer will be with you in moments.
Got little ones? Take advantage of Western’s fantastic childcare centre. It’s open from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm, and offers long-day or occasional care for $13 an hour.
If you’re feeling down or stressed, get in touch with Western’s counselling service. Our qualified social workers and psychologists have got your back.
If you have a disability, chronic health condition or temporary injury, the Disability Services team can help with things like pre-admission, note takers, readers, sign interpreters, video and podcast transcripts, assistive technology, textbooks and materials in alternative formats, the list goes on.

Accommodation you can afford
Western’s on-campus accommodation is a hop, skip and jump from your classroom. Choose a shared villa or flat, or rent your own studio apartment. Get 24/7 support, security and WiFi access, as well as the use of our laundry facilities and courtyard, computer lab and games room. There’s even the odd cooking class.
Educational Facilities
Library
Western’s on-campus library is open until 7pm most weekdays. Outside of staffed hours, our study hall gives you nearly 24-hour library access.
Observatory
The Observatory is both an engineering field lab and home to the Australian Optical SETI Project. It offers community programs, like astronomy nights, talks on astrophysics and engineering, the Engineering Frontiers program for talented high school students, an Aboriginal science literacy program, workshops for science educators, and conferences. It’s free, and everyone is welcome.

We’re a family run restaurant serving authentic Thai food to Sydney locals for over 20 years, first opening In-Chan Thai Restaurant in Kingsford. We’ve now opened BARLAME (pronounced BAR-LA-ME) for our local diners in Dural, North Kellyville and WSU Campbelltown Campus.
At BARLAME Campbelltown we offer a menu with entrée, salad, blend of curries, noodle dishes, and stir-fry delights. Our multi-faith centre is for everyone on campus, whether you hold to a faith or not. Drop by to pray, reflect, meditate, connect with religious groups, or just take some time out.
Western has a number of on-campus men’s and women’s Muslim prayer rooms. These include Qibla-facing prayer carpets, a place for Wudu, and female prayer clothing if needed.
The Queer Room is a place for LGBTIQ peeps and their straight allies to relax, chat and find support.
If you’re a woman or a female-identifying student, the Women’s Room is a safe place for you to study, breastfeed, attend group meetings or get involved in women’s events.
